Hello Friends,
I’ve been gone way too long, but I’m back and here to stay! I
returned to the East Coast for the fall semester and my life has been a
whirlwind ever since. It all began with my housing. For my first few days back
in New Jersey I stayed in a fabulous hotel within walking distance from my
school’s main campus. I guess I was a little too comfortable because after that
my living situation turned into a nightmare.
I stayed with a family friend about 30 minutes away from
school. The family included the mother, father, two boys, and their huge black
Labrador (105 pounds to be exact). Don’t get me wrong I love dogs, but this one
was infatuated with me. Needless to say it would never leave my side. On the
first day I left for school, it ran into my room searching for me and destroyed
my glasses. Every day it would attempt to jump into my arms as if it were the
size of a Chihuahua. Not good since I am only five pounds heavier. Somehow I
made it through a month of being tackled like a Linebacker and moved into a new
apartment directly behind campus. It was the perfect match. Or so I thought…
The apartment turned
out to be a mess!!! Insects, dirt, and an inattentive landlord oh my! As an
added bonus the heat wasn’t working, bad combination for fall nights in the
northeast. I decided to start looking for a new place immediately. On my second
day back on the apartment hunt, I found an apartment that I did not see
my first time around. That day I emailed the landlord, saw the apartment and
basically fell in love. After a diehard battle with a gentleman who loved the
place just as much as I did, I have finally moved in. I absolutely adore the
apartment. My neighbors are wonderful and most special of all I have my own
clean, adorable space. What more can a girl ask for?!
This quote describes the journey to my new apartment and any
tough time in life (Sex and the City
can bring you out of the worst days). Throughout all of the obstacles and
burdens in my way, I simply had to have faith something better was out there
for me. Every time a living situation didn’t turn out right and I felt
disheartened, I had to remember that it wasn’t meant for me. Sometimes this is challenging
to do when all hope seems lost. I have
now found the perfect place and have some pretty interesting stories to tell that will last a lifetime.
xoxo,
Terryn
