Interview Ready

September is quickly approaching which means it's time to interview for fall internships. I've had a few interviews recently but nothing as special as the one today. The CEO is known for wearing all black so I decided to emulate her with this black and white ensemble. My hair was swept back in a low bun and I topped off my look with a red wine colored lip stain. Here are some tips I follow when deciding what to wear for an interview.

Classic is key.
Although trends are fun and show knowledge of fashion, it's wise to choose classic pieces that can be worn on any occasion. You don't want to look too trendy. Pick an outfit that shows your sense of style and is professional as well.

Simple jewelry is the way to go.
I love a good arm party like any other girl, but when interviewing you want to keep accessories to a minimum. I like to wear earrings, a necklace, and either bracelets or a ring.

Maintained nails
If you tend to talk with your hands like I do, your nails will be one of the first things your potential employer will notice. Make sure they are clean, neat, and if polished, free of chipped paint. I absolutely love to paint my nails and chose Essie's Play Date for my interview. The color suits every occasion.

Don't forget confidence and a smile.
More than anything else, your attitude will take you far during an interview. Remain positive and upbeat even if you cannot answer a question or feel that the interview is not going as planned. Even if you don't get a call confirming you got the job, you'll have ammo and material to get the next one. Treat each interview as a learning experience. Good luck on your job hunt!
