Sweet Tooth

I can recall wonderful childhood memories of my cousin and me going to the bakery across the street from my grandma's house. During the summer, the sweet smell of fancy sugars wafted over to her house and immediately into our noses. My cousin and I would find loose change on the counters and in my grandfather's piggy bank. We were determined to pay for our own desserts. On one occasion, my uncle made the trip with us and was so embarrassed that we paid with nickels, dimes, and quarter dollars. We were just happy to say we bought our own goodies for the day.

Anderson's Bakery still has a special place in my heart. The yummy fragrances evoke the same feelings I felt at a young age (and this time I can pay with more than just change). Every time I go to visit family, it is a top priority. The staff there is so friendly and always adds a little something special to my purchase. The treats are the best I've ever tasted. Don't believe me? I'll be more than happy to compare and contrast;)

The Friday before I left to travel back to school, my mom surprised me with a box of Anderson's. It's an amazing feeling to know that no matter how old I get, the little things will always make me smile.

My day was made when my mom came into my room with the signature white box. A surprise I am always happy to receive.

The iced gingerbread man is one of my favorites. Since Mardi Gras is coming up soon, they used green, purple, and gold frosting to decorate it. I love how festive the bakery becomes throughout the year.

The brownies are TO DIE FOR! So soft, so moist, heavenly!

What are your favorite childhood treats?
